Gluten-Free French Toast with Honey Blueberry Syrup Recipe
This morning I woke up
craving some french toast, went to the kitchen and prepared a version of these
glorious toast but gluten-free with a delicate honey and blueberries syrup (because I didn’t have regular syrup). The result was heavenly.
Ingredients for the toasts / Ingredientes para las tostadas:
2 slices of
gluten-free bread (I used Udi's Gluten Free Whole Grain Bread) /
2 rebanadas de pan libre de gluten (Yo utilicé Udi’s Gluten Free Whole Grain Bread)
1 egg / 1 huevo
¼ cup lactose-free
milk / ¼ taza de leche libre de lactosa
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
powder / ¼ cucharadita Canela en polvo
¼ teaspoon vanilla
extract / ¼ cucharadita Extracto de vainilla
pinch of salt / pizca de sal
Directions / Direcciones:
Beat egg, vanilla, milk, and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Dip bread in the mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly. Cook bread until browned on both sides on a skillet with some butter.
Batir el huevo, la vainilla, la canela y la leche en un plato llano. Sumergir el pan en la mezcla, dando vuelta para cubrir ambos lados de manera uniforme. Cocinar el pan hasta que esté dorado por ambos lados en una sartén con un poco de mantequilla.
Ingredients for the
syrup / Ingredientes para el glaseado:
½ cup organic honey / ½ taza de miel orgánica
½ cup fresh
blueberries / ½ taza de arándanos frescos
1 lemon (optional) / 1 limón (opcional)
Directions / Direcciones:
In a small pot heat the honey and blueberries, also squeeze the lemon juice. Leave it to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Let it rest before serving it.
En una olla pequeña calienta la miel y los arándanos, exprime el jugo del limón. Dejar hervir a fuego lento durante 10 a 15 minutos. Dejar reposar antes de servirlo.
